25.09.2026

ITP Aero UK welcomed 30 T Level Engineering students from Nottingham College to its Hucknall site as part of National Manufacturing Day, giving them a behind-the-scenes look at the world of aerospace manufacturing and the exciting career opportunities available within the sector.

Throughout the day, students learned about ITP Aero’s role in the design, development and manufacturing of aeroengines, explored early career opportunities in engineering and manufacturing, and toured the factory to see advanced aerospace production in action.

The visit proved to be a great success, with students arriving eager to learn and leaving inspired by what they had seen and experienced. They asked insightful questions, engaged enthusiastically with colleagues throughout the day, and showed genuine curiosity about the wide range of careers available in aerospace manufacturing.

Employees from across the business shared their career journeys, explained the work they do every day, and demonstrated how engineering, manufacturing and support functions work together to create world-class aerospace components. These conversations helped bring the industry to life and gave students a valuable insight into the skills and opportunities available to them in the future.

The factory tour was a particular highlight, allowing students to experience a live manufacturing environment first hand and see the precision, teamwork and innovation involved in producing components for some of the world’s leading aerospace programmes.

Ian Williamson, Managing Director, ITP Aero UK, said:

“National Manufacturing Day is a fantastic opportunity to open our doors and showcase the exciting careers available in aerospace. The students from Nottingham College were engaged, inquisitive and enthusiastic throughout the day. Their interest, thoughtful questions and passion for learning were inspiring to see. We have no doubt that amongst this group are some of the engineers who will help shape the future of manufacturing and aerospace in the years ahead.”
